Winnie the Pooh and all, all, all celebrating the birthday

On this day in 1926 in England, published the first book about Vinnie the Pooh, Alan Alexander Milne. Like many other characters in Milne’s books, Winnie the Bear was given the name of one of the real Christopher Robin’s toy (1920-1996), son of the writer. In turn, the teddy bear Winnie the Pooh was named for a she-bear named Winnipeg (Winnie), contained in the 1920’s in the London Zoo.
